Prostatitis can't always be cured, but its symptoms can be managed. Treatment should be followed even if you feel better. Patients with prostatitis aren't at higher risk for getting prostate cancer. There's no reason to stop normal sex unless it bothers you.

In studies they have shown to reduce overall incidence of prostate cancer, although definitive evidence lacking. But they also lead to higher number of high risk tumors due to reduction in psa levels that may lead to avoidance of biopsy in earlier stage.

the three most common prostate problems are inflammation (prostatitis), enlarged prostate (bph, or benign prostatic hyperplasia), and prostate cancer. One change does not lead to another. For example, having prostatitis or an enlarged prostate does not increase your risk of prostate cancer.
