It could be due to viral upper respiratory tract infection.
Increase intake of amla, guava, oranges, mosambi. 
 take hot saline gargles atleast 5 - 6 times a day, it will help to clear the throat . 
steam inhalation also helps to clear respiratory passages. 
sprinkling eucalyptus oil on the clothes and pillows while sleeping will help. 
elevating the upper body and head by propping up with 2 - 3 pillows at night will help to relieve post nasal drip which worsens dry cough.more

Betadine gargle add 5 ml solution in hot to warm water gargle it before meals n spite it out for seven to ten days.
Tab montak lc one at night for seven days.
Zerodol sp three times a day after food for five days. Chymoral forte three times a day after food for five days.
Gudcef cv 200 two times a day after food for five days. Pan d one in empty stomach for seven days.
Light diet home made, plenty of liquid luckwarm.
Use fruits upto three pm.

keep the ulcer area clean and dry, no pressure should exert there at any point of time, the wound should be debrided if any dead tissue or Slough is present, if pus is there it should be cultured, time to heal depends on size and depth of ulcer, but in months.

give him benzocaine ointment and boroglycerine to apply on ulcers .
give them becosule with folic acid daily .
