After taking the high hormonal emergency pill like I pill one gets withdrawal bleeding 5 to 10 days later, and then a new cycle starts. This means no pregnancy and that is what has happened in your case too.
Any doubt may get blood test done serum hcg-beta.

Sometimes a woman will have spotting and think her period is about to start and not see any more bleeding. This can be implantation bleeding, which is the earliest sign of pregnancy, that is sometimes mistaken for a menstrual cycle. It can also be that your period simply is lighter that month.

When ovulation happens- release of ovum from ovary, due to hormonal changes some may get bleeding which is called ovulation bleeding.
After sperm and ovum unite when xygote gets imbedded in inner lining of uterus it is called implantation bleeding.
Only theortitical knowledge- not of practical value.

The simple answer is yes, you could still be pregnant even with a negative test, depending on when you took it, but there are also other reasons your period could be late. A pregnancy test detects hcg levels in your urine which increase the longer you are pregnant.
