8 mm is a big stone which only rarely may pass spontaneously. You may need surgical / endiscopic removal. Have plenty of oral fluids. Cyst treatment would depend upon its size, exact location etc. Smaller cyst do not require any treatment. Larger cyst requires surgery. Mostly laparoscopic surgery.

Dear lybrate-user you have not mentioned why did you get ultrasound done. Anyway 5 mm stone in kidney if asymptomatic, nothing to worry but have one consultation with urologist.
Ovarian cyst of this size if not causing any problem take ocs for three months and repeat ultrasound. If cyst disappears nothing to worry. If remains of same size and asymptomatic nothing to be done. If cyst grows and reaches 6 cm and belonged, surgery is only option.

Although you can remain healthy with one kidney, drinking alcohol causes damage beyond your one kidney. Remember, kidney damage and disease can lead to other health issues.

Most doctors recommend a partial surgery for cysts smaller than 4 cm, which removes the cyst but preserves as much of the remaining kidney as possible
