Asked for male, 45 years old from Calicut

For initial stage of neuropathy, Dr. prescribed me following vitamins 1) supradyn (1-0-0) 2)renerve plus bt (1-0-0) 3) seacod cod liver oil caps (0-0-1) 4) vit d cal tab (0-0-1) I have only initial stage of peripheral neuropathy he said .i don't have any other disease or problem .i wonder why did he prescribed all these vitamin tabs? I think this will lead to overdose of vitamins and will have some toxic side effects. What is to be done? Should I consume all? How can I modify this prescription ?kindly suggest.

Ok Lybrate user. Neuropathy can be a large fiber neuropathy or small fiber neuropathy.
Cause differs in each cases, commonest being diabetes mellitus. It can also be due to other causes like vitamin deficiencies. You need to have an evalution before I can give you an advice.

My mom right now 60 years old has been taking beta blocker, calcium blocker, ecosprin 75 (aspirin) for mild mitral n aortic regurgitation since 4 years. 2 years back she had amputated her right leg due to rta. Since then she has been taking mirnite 35 and zolcam .what the real issue I want to consult is since some months ago when covid first started my mom has been having pitting edema on her left foot like consecutive days and the opd or any hospitals are not welcoming any case issue because of cavity right now. Is the cause of edema anything to worry about?

Many conditions can cause pedal edema like cardiac problems, renal problems as well as liver problems. Even hypothyroidism and venous problems in the leg can cause it. You have to get a renal function test, liver function test, 2d echo, tft to know the exact cause.

I am undergoing treatment for ankylosis spondylitis and taking cervilon, lumbatone tablet twice a day, along with that I am taking dhanwanthram 101 drop and anu thailam drop, but still I am suffering from severe headache and neck/shoulder pain at least 5 times in a month and I had to take allopathy pain killer for headache. I am 78 yrs. Old male. I had sever angina pain in year 1987 and had open heart surgery in year 2000. From 1987 I am on medicine revlol xl12. 5 and storvastin 5 one tab each. I am perfectly fine and feel no medicine is required. My lipid profile is normal. My cholesterol is always 140-180 .yes I also take thyronorm 75 from last 8-10 yrs. Although my tsh is 0.65.further I had big problem of auric acid hence I stop ecosprin 75 from year 2015 and started ayurveda medicine arjuna. I don't have any bad habit ,i do pranayam, yoga every day. My question is do I continue with medicine? Lastly my 4 month back report of ecg, echo, is absolutely normal.

I have been having a condition for years and researched it and found out it's called orthostatic hypotension and I also have serious angina sometimes. I reside in nigeria and i've complained to doctors but they don't take it seriously. What do I do please?

Orthostatic hypotension also called postural hypotension. It is a form of low blood pressure that happens when you stand up from sitting or lying down. Orthostatic hypotension can make you feel dizzy or lightheaded, and maybe even cause you to faint.
Dehydration is the most common cause. Drink plenty of fluids in the form of water, aam panna, narial pani, bel sharbat, chaach, shikanji etc.

10 years of type 2 diabetes can cause diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Keep your diabetes well controlled. Your burning paresthesia can be dur to small fiber neuropathy. Needs more details.
