An inflammation of the lungs, pneumonia has many of the same symptoms as bronchitis, including: persistent fever (often high) cough, often with yellow or green mucus. Chills, which sometimes cause shaking. As covid-19 pneumonia slowly moves through the lungs, it leaves damaged lung tissue in its wake and contributes to the fever, low blood pressure and organ damage common in covid-19 patients, let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

My mom has recovered from covid. She was suffering from severe pneumonia and now she is fine. But the moderate cough is still there. My actual question is while she is in laying down position she goes to change the sleeping position or turn left or right (karwa badalna) suddenly the coughing begins. While sleeping straight the coughing is not observed but when she changes position the coughing begins may I know why is this happening? And what to do so she can get rid of this thing?

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you. Stuffed-up sinuses or a sinus infection may cause postnasal drip, especially when lying down. Postnasal drip tickles the back of your throat and leads to coughing. If nighttime coughing is caused by a medical condition such as a sinus infection, it's important to get treatment. My father is covid positive from 5 -6 days. All his symptoms were gone after medication and his oxygen levels were good but today suddenly his oxygen levels decreased to 50 with no chest pain or breathing issue. Is this is a pneumonia symptom?

Dear lybrate-user ji for pneumonia, pl do not panic. Just follow antibiotic therapy, oxygen therapy, watch out for over hydration, take diabetes medicine regularly. If he is at home, pl see to it that the o2 level should not fall. Check the saturation and maintain at 95% saturation. If it falls below, rush to the nearest hospital if you get a chance. My best wishes to you and your family. May your dad get well.

Hello Ms. lybrate-user good morning! a normal x ray would suffice to know about the condition of lungs. If you develop breathing difficulty then a ct or mri would be required. You may take all necessary precautions for covid and keep your hydration and nutrition proper. Take vitc and zinc tablet and remain stress free. You would be just fine.
