The pituitary gland is a small bean-shaped gland situated at the base of your brain, behind your nose and between your ears. Despite its size, this gland secretes hormones that influence nearly every part of your body.

Hello doctors. I have recently done mri scan of my brain. And some results are seen below:- comparison: none findings: ring shaped cortical/ subcortical lesion with eccentric dot and blooming on swi and calcification on phase images in the left hippocampal formation with minimal peripheral gliosis/edema. Mild increased signal and volume loss of the left hippocampus as compared to the right. Both mammillary bodies are symmetric. No evidence of heterotopias or fcd. Both cerebral hemispheres are normal in bulk and gray white matter differentiation. Basal ganglia, internal capsules and thalami are normal. Syvian fissures and basal cisterns are normal. Pituitary gland is normal in size and signal pattern. Sella and para-seller structures are normal. The ventricular system is normal. There is no shift of midline structures. No intra/extra axial collection seen. Cerebellum and and brain stem are normal in signal characteristic. Bilateral orbits, cerebellopontine angles and internal auditory canal are unremarkable. Vascular flow voids are normal. Mild mucosal thickening involving the ethmoid sinuses. Impression: 1. Ring shaped cortical/ subcortical lesion with eccentric dot and blooming on swi and calcification on phase images in the left hippocampal formation with minimal peripheral gliosis/edema. Findings represent calcified granuloma most likely related to neurocysticercosis. Other diagnostic consideration is tuberculosis. 2. Mild increased signal and volume loss of the left hippocampus as compared to tge right. Findings are suggestive of left mesial temporal sclerosis. Clinical correlation is suggested. Please doctors explain me clearly what are these above problems or findings? Are these problems dangerous for me or not? Thank you.
