Pilonidal Sinus (PNS) is a disease in which hairs slip into the cleft above the buttocks and develop into the sinus. It is a small hole or tunnel in the skin. PNS consists of dirt, debris and hair. If pus discharge is not there then there are chances that after some time pus will accumulate and sinus might go deeper and become bigger. So as long as there is no swelling and no pus accumulation; there is no urgency. If swelling appears then you should plan for treatment on urgent basis.
