Surgery is not a right choice for pilonidal sinus (open surgery/ laser surgery/ z-plasty etc.) for the reason of recurrence of pilonidal sinus after surgery. However pilonidal sinus can be conveniently treated by graded ksharsutra treatment. No hospitalization or bed rest is required in this treatment. You can continue your normal routine activities as usual during this treatment. For further support you may call reception at sushruta ano rectal institute.

For pilonidal sinus, the only treatment is surgical removal but do remember that pilonidal sinus has a fairly high incidence of recurrence even in the best of hands.

Chances of recurrence after surgery are fairly common in the patients of pilonidal sinus. Clear your doubts with your treating doctor. If not satisfied you can always opt for non surgical, highly effective graded kshar sutra treatment available at sushruta ano rectal institute new delhi, results r far better than surgery/ z plasty.

Laser success rate is not good, there will be a big wound in modern surgery and also surgical stains will be there for lifetime. Kshara sutra therapy is a unique ancient technique, which is proved to be an effective treatment for pilonidal sinus. According to world health organisation (who, kshar sutra therapy is better than any modern surgery for pilonidal sinus. Its a painless non surgical procedure.
