Dear Lybrate user. Phimosis is a congenital narrowing of the opening of the foreskin so that it cannot be retracted. Phimosis is a very common problem. In most of the cases you can clear the problem yourself. Phimosis could cause moderate to severe pain while having vaginal intercourse. Apply oil on your foreskin and on the glans. Move the foreskin forward and back slowly without hurting you much. Because the oil is lubricant, it will be easier than without oil. Do this forward and back movement...more

For small urethral meatus, with tight penile skin, Surgery is the option For mild phimosis, in which penile skin is slightly free, Conservative treatment like putting some coconut oil drops below penile skin and do forward and backward movements of penile skin slowly avoiding masturbation. For 3 months.

The initial choice of treatment is a steroid ointment that is locally applied. (This can be suggested by a doctor after you are examined in person) The ointment softens the foreskin and is applied for up to 6 weeks. When full retraction is possible the ointment is stopped.
If this treatment is unsuccessful, a circumcision (surgical removal of foreskin) is advised.
