Hello, perforation in ear drum if it is with dry ear and without hearing loss may not need treatment. But progressive hearing loss and recurrent ear infection do need surgery.

Hello
ear drum rupture which is secondary to trauma or which is secondary to cough and cold has a greater probability of curing by medicine.
While ear drum perforation due to long term ear discharge has less probability of closing by medication in such cases you have to take medication to make ear infection free and then ho for surgery

Hi. You appear to to have chronic suppurative otitis media causing pus discharge from the ear. If the ear drum is having perforation (hole), usually surgical repair is required. Clinical examination by an ENT physician will help to ascertain whether surgery is required or not. Thanks.
