Clinical evaluation of your knee would reveal the exact ligament that has been injured.
According to your history. Medical patellar retinaculum and VMO or ACL, Meniscus may be injured.
This will be further confirmed by MRI scans.
But then:
1. Perform static and dynamic Quadriceps exercises.
2. Apply local ice packs.
3. Medications like Enzomac and Tendocare will help.
4. Report with your Mr. scan.
Arthroscopy would solve your knee problems. Do not worry.

An immediate response to a patellar injury should be to cut down inflammation, stop engaging the patellofemoral joint and to relieve pain. One of the best ways to do it is to follow the RICE mechanism- rest, ice, compress...more

Stiffness might have developed due to weakness of the ligaments &inflammed cartilage. Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it.
