Hello doctors. I have recently done mri scan of my brain. And some results are seen below:- comparison: none findings: ring shaped cortical/ subcortical lesion with eccentric dot and blooming on swi and calcification on phase images in the left hippocampal formation with minimal peripheral gliosis/edema. Mild increased signal and volume loss of the left hippocampus as compared to the right. Both mammillary bodies are symmetric. No evidence of heterotopias or fcd. Both cerebral hemispheres are normal in bulk and gray white matter differentiation. Basal ganglia, internal capsules and thalami are normal. Syvian fissures and basal cisterns are normal. Pituitary gland is normal in size and signal pattern. Sella and para-seller structures are normal. The ventricular system is normal. There is no shift of midline structures. No intra/extra axial collection seen. Cerebellum and and brain stem are normal in signal characteristic. Bilateral orbits, cerebellopontine angles and internal auditory canal are unremarkable. Vascular flow voids are normal. Mild mucosal thickening involving the ethmoid sinuses. Impression: 1. Ring shaped cortical/ subcortical lesion with eccentric dot and blooming on swi and calcification on phase images in the left hippocampal formation with minimal peripheral gliosis/edema. Findings represent calcified granuloma most likely related to neurocysticercosis. Other diagnostic consideration is tuberculosis. 2. Mild increased signal and volume loss of the left hippocampus as compared to tge right. Findings are suggestive of left mesial temporal sclerosis. Clinical correlation is suggested. Please doctors explain me clearly what are these above problems or findings? Are these problems dangerous for me or not? Thank you.

Dear lybrate-user, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, armpit or groin can sometimes mean a lymphoma, but it can also be other forms of cancer, a thorough work up is required in such cases, which includes blood investigations, imaging and in appropriate cases, biopsy of the nodes for establishing diagnosis and immunophenotyping. Your friend should seek opinion from a medical oncologist/hematoncologist for proper care. Best wishes.

Dryness is caused by hypothyroidism itself. There is a change in composition of mucous that is secreted by special glands in the conjunctiva tissue of the eye. She has to use lubricating eye drops on a daily basis at a frequency that depends upon the ambient temperature, humidity and wind factor. Generally speaking use drops for comfort and repeat when discomfort starts. Lubricating drops are safe and preservative free formulations are also available. Nepaflam has to be stopped after 3 weeks.

Sir, I am 26 years of age. Do not have any medical history. I am 5.5 inches in height and approx 70 kgs in weight. Since my college when I was around 18-19, I have this issue of gynecomastia. I have researched a bit and found out that surgery is the only option to treat this. But I do not have any prior medical experience not even with syringes like blood test so the word surgery makes nervous. Sir, I have heard about minimally invasive techniques where liposuction is done along with removal of gland and this is a day care procedure and patient can go home the same day after few hours. Can you please explain a bit about this? Also what are the risks involved. I was searching on the net and found out about some post op fluid development in the chest region which needs to be removed. I also read about drain tubes, so are drain tubes always required after this surgery because I also read that drain tubes are generally not required in this surgery unless huge amount of tissue is removed in case of advanced gynecomastia. So as I do not have advanced gynecomastia, in case drain tubes are not used then how will we prevent the fluid from developing? And in case it develops then how do we treat it? Is it performed under general or local anaesthesia and what is the total time of surgery? Lastly what will be the approx total cost of this procedure including medicines and post op care charges? I have attached 2 images of my chest for your reference. Please help me doc.
