Hi Lybrate user. Chicken pox is very contagious disease. It's secondary attack rate is 85 %. So there is high possibility of get infection in family members. Patient should be kept in isolation atleast for 5 days after appearence of crust. The person who cares the patient should wear a mask. All cloths / towels should be separate. Thank you.
