Ovarian cysts do not always require a specific treatment, particularly if they are not causing symptoms. Often a pelvic ultrasound will be repeated after a period of months to see if the cyst has resolved. More detailed discussion may help to get your better and effective consultation. Hello. Ovarian cyst and PCOS both can affect your mensus. But they can be differentiated by USG easily. PCOS is seen as multiple small follicles (more than 12) of 2-9 mm size where as cyst will be single. Moreover PCOS is associated with hormonal disturbances and LH: FSH ratio is >2. Ovarian cyst if simple <3 cm or haemorrhagic resolves on it's own. PCOS generally requires treatment.
