Hi, I have been detected with Ovarian Cancer stage IV in November 2014. I have been treated for the same with Chemotherapy and then surgery and then chemotherapy again. I was discharged fine in June 2015. Now disease has relapsed and chemotherapy is being given again, so wish to take another opinion -1. How can we prevent it to reoccur and how to live, 2. How to increase immunity of the of my body and other methods to prolong the re-occurrence.. I can send reports if required by the concerned specialist.

Hi lybrate-user,
stage 4 carcinoma is treated by chemotherapy only. If there is recurrence after chemo your doctor is needed to change the protocol.
Though many agents are claimed to be immune builders but none is proved to the satisfaction.
Even for the sake of giving immunostimulants I would suggest to take turmeric capsules and alovera juice along with chemotherapy.

I am 22 years old unmarried girl. I have irregular periods and bloated stomach. I get periods only when I take tablets and that too lasts only for 2 days and the bleeding is also so little. I have visited gynecologist she has given me tabs then she took a blood test where hb% was 10 later she advice me to visit her when I get my periods so yesterday I visited her she advice me for a test RBS which I have taken she was saying its hormonal test bt when I went through the net it showed dat it is sugar test so please may I knw which test is RBS? n also please tell me is there any serious problem bcz I have read somewhere tgat bloated stomach and irregular periods are sign of ovarian or othr type of cancer. please do reply. Rbs is randomized blood sugar. Irregular periods and bloated stomach are not signs of cancer. Don't worry and get proper treatment for your periods.

I am 22 years old unmarried girl. I have been on irregular periods from jan 2015. Only when I take tablets I get my period that too not normal very little bleeding. I was supposed to get my periods on jan 29 but I didn't so I consulted a doc took tabs then I got my period on feb 12 which lasted only for 2 days with very little bleeding. I have done thyroid test too which came out to be normal. Later I didn't get my period in march again I took tab then I got in april. Its like only when I take medicine I am getting my period which lasts only for 2 days with very little bleeding. My stomach is bloated and I get period cramps but I don't get my periods. I never had irregular periods this is the first time. I went through net then it was showing symptoms of ovarian or other type of cancer. Is there any possibility or doubt that may be I have any type of cancer? please do reply I am really worried. Thank you in advance.

The primary treatment of ovarian cancer is surgery. Whether surgery can be done or not, depends on many factors. If the tumor is inoperable due large size, it can be downsize by using chemotherapy. But after chemotherapy, surgery should be done. Survival of the patients treated without surgery is poor.

Hello, my mother is 54 years old and suffering from breast carcinoma. The doctor has removed the whole breast after operation and suggested there are no requirements for the chemotherapy only tablets are prescribed for taking the cure of disease and the medicine is 1.exemestane 25 2.phycolan. My concern is that exemestane 25 is coming to many companies i.e. Pfizer, natco pharma and others but pfizer company medicine cost is much higher than natco. Kindly confirm that we can take medicine of natco pharma or can go to pfizer because medicine is the same but prices are too much of a difference. Any difference between the effectiveness of both companies. Kindly suggest.

Am 25 years I was diagnosed of fibroadenoma and simple cyst on my right breast. The fibroadenoma measure 24. 7x14.0x21. 5 mm, volume 3.88 cc but I have been with it since I was 16 years and then cyst measure 11. 4x9.5x7. 2 mm volume of 0.41 cc now 3 months with. My doctors giving an option of surgery to remove them this month but they are painless what should I do am scared of surgery is there any other option than surgery please. Thank you.

To thick walled enochic cysts lesions showing cystic echos debris with septation ando imal professional vascularity noted at retroareolar region of right breast measuring 8.7x5.7, 12x16 mm surrounding breast parenchyma shows areas of altered echogenecity with increased vascularity. No evidence of ductal dilation on either side no skin thickening/nipple retraction.

Shift means stopping chemo and that is not good.
Consequences of leaving it untreated- differs from patient to patient.

Yes. The Pap smear is indicative of infection for which antibiotic has been prescribed. Better get a repeat one after 6 months to confirm it is resolved.
