fissure is a mucosal tear of anal canal. its a painful condition sometimes associated with bleeding. cause is usually prolong constipation or excessive straining during motions. medicines are available but they provide short term benefit only. surgery is a better option. recurrence can occur if post surgery constipation continues and diet modifications are not followed. aviod constipation and straining. increase fibre in diet. do sitz bath.
