Hello user, as a surgeon also, I would recommend you adopt lifestyle changes like eating high fiber food and try not to strain too much, use sitz bath thrice in a day (sit in warm water for 15 min) use these for three weeks, and if symptoms persist then you can go for surgery, hope you get well soon.

Some people are prone for recurrence while others might remain disease free after surgery for a long time. Till yet there is no way to predict. Who is gonna fall in which of these two groups.

Hello dear lybrate-user,
Warm welcome to Lybrate.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly.* After any surgery of fissure, there can be recurrence at anytime, so think twice before deciding.* There are many options as Lord`s dilatation, lateral sphincterotomy or others depending upon the
surgeon`s choice.* Details of risk has to be discussed with the treating doctor. Hope this clears your query. Wishing you fine recovery. Welcome for any further assistance. Regards take care.
