Hi, gestational diabetes will be managed with diabetic diet first depending on levels of sugars. If sugar levels is not controlled with diet, then insulin will be started.

The blood glucose levels and HbA1c% shown all confirm that there is no diabetes. I do not see any reason for doing a OGTT. Thanks.

She should go for glucose challenge test.
Take 75 gm of glucose with 1glass of water ,after 1 hr BLD sugar to be done. Levels upto 140 are considered normal, if >140 then patient has chances of developing gestational diabetes, and needs to be further investigated.

Your post meal blood sugar is on the higher side. To confirm whether you have diabetes or pre diabetes, please do ogtt and hba1c in the lab. In that glucose is given to you in the fasting in the morning and blood sugar is tested every half an hour for 2 hours. If you have 2 hours blood sugar, post glucose, is more than 200, then even if the reversal is not possible, sugar can be kept under control with diet and exercise alone without medication. Take care. Periodic follow up is necessary.

If there is a family history of diabetes or your pregnancy ultrasound shows excessive amount of liquor/fluid. Only then get is indicated.

Follow diabetic diet and exercise daily for at least 30 minutes. Repeat your fasting and pp blood sugar levels after a month and revert.
