I think your daughter may be treated for Bipolar 1. I suggest you take her immediately to a counselor and treat her with talk therapy too. In her later adolescence, there are likely to be some unresolved issues that may go as far as prenatal influences. It comes up at this time seeking a resolution. But unfortunately not many are aware of this and will go untreated and compound the disorder. Both parents must also accompany her to help trace the problems encountered in childhood. There are certa...more

You are relying too much on the medication to solve the problem, which can be pretty futile. Please seek the help of a counselor too. Please take your parents with you to determine the possible developmental issues that may have contributed to this condition. This is a fear-based condition and for some reason you have not been dealing with this childhood fear which has now developed unto these repetitive adaptations to seem to need it for normal functioning. The behavior will then become based o...more

Discuss your symptoms with your treating psychiatrist and get the medications revised if they do not help even after taking for a month or so. Many times it is difficult for the psychiatrist to get all the symptoms under control in one go, so give him/ her time and for most the symptoms subside over a period of time. Even after say 3-6 months you still feel unsatisfied, get a second opinion. Good luck.

Hi,
it is all due to exacerbation of your ocd symptoms. It's in your best interest if you consult a psychiatrist in-person and initiate treatment which will help you a lot and you will probably see the difference in 2-4 weeks. If you are already taking treatment then you need to discuss with your psychiatrist to further optimise the treatment regime to make it more effective.
Regards.

Asalamualykum lybrate-user,
see, the point is that the medicine you take for ocd only works on calming the symptoms. We call them nuerosuppresents. What they do is they basically calm you down until another dose is required. They never help you solve the underlying problem. The thing is that only therapy can do that. There are a lot of underlying thoughts or even trauma that needs to be resolved that will itself resolve the issue. If you need any help kindly do not hesitate to message me.more
