Dear lybrateuser,
- Even smoking a single cigarette is harmful
- try to leave the habit as the cravings go on increasing, have nicotine gum or lozenges to get over the cravings, you can also consult a medical professional to help you quit the habit.

A normal human takes oxygen into lungs 15 -20 times per minute (15 - 20 breaths) lungs mixes oxygen in blood and it purifies our blood, by smoking we are mixing not only oxygen adding bad elements like nicotine etc. How to quit: by willingness and willpower" where there is a will there is a way. Slow technic reduce one by one per day or week.

Dear, tobacco is addictive. Cigarette also contains 4000+ carcinogenic chemicals other than nicotine. The best method is to leave it and continue with your will power. There are other methods like nicotine replacement therapy and pharmacotherapy combined. But still you will need will power. You may consult a physician or deaddiction therapist or a rehabilitation facility for further advise. Take care.
