My wife admitted on hospital for treatment of tumor on overy, I want to know about tumor on overy, and I how many chances to it cover to censer, my wife previous ca 125 report (20/10/2030) was 82 u/ml, but now 9/11/2020 ca 125 is 187u/ml ,kindly any one suggest me what .i can, its major problem occurred my wife found covid 19 report is positive, hospital says could not oppret in this situation ,till she received room covid 19 ,then after 21 days they can operation,

Icchyosis my father has been diagnosed with mild ild, ipf. Gerd. Pulmonologist in bangalore Dr. Br ramesh had prescribed pirfenex cipla tablet. Recently changed to acebrophylline 100 mg. Reason: he was not eating well. He has oxygen at home and also checks oxygen level with oximeter. Questions: 1. Are there any trials or cures better in homeopathy than allopathy? 2. What is the best way to control cough and also maintain his appetite? 3. He is eating little by little multiple times. Is this the way this condition works? 4. He was in america and had gone through multiple sets of tests, ct scans, blood tests, x-rays and was never told by the doctors that he has mild ild, ipf - lung scarring. After going back to india a year back he was told this diagnosis. 5. Are there any stem cell therapy or treatment available? 6. He is complaining about “dum chandna” or shortness of breath and not able to walk properly. 7. What is the best course of treatment? 8. Can he take allopathy and homeopathy medicines? Dear Mr. lybrate-user, perfinidone is the mainstay treatment. In this condition, lung becomes like rope fibres, the size of the lungs reduces and hence there is difficulty in breathing (dam chadna) and cough is present. Mr. lybrate-user, pirfefenidone is the main drug for ild if its ipf form. Acebrophylline is not useful in ild. There are few cough syrups that wil help to reduce it.

My uncle is in the fourth stage of lung cancer. He is of the age around 40-45. The doctor has asked him to take chemotherapy and it will be starting from this monday since he has been diagnosed with the disease just yesterday that's on 01/10/2020. He is physically unwell too. Now my question is, how long can he survive or be alive after having chemotherapy? What is the chance of survival?

stage 4... very poor results.... even with treatment..

may be 6months to 1 year...

where all is the spread... do u have PET AND CT SCAN

My father in law has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2017, and undergone 4 cycles of chemotherapy. After completion of chemotherapy he was on erlotinib for 2 years, in december 2019 due to breathing issue and persistent cough and tiredness, after egfr doctor put hum on osimeritinib, but now his cough increased and his breathing and fatigue issue is increased. And doctor suggested pet ct. Pet ct interpretation "metabolically active right lower lobe lesion with local infiltration as described, metabolically active left lung nodule suggests metastasis, metabolically active ground glass opacities in both lungs suggestive of ineffective inflammatory pathology, mild left plural and pericardial effusion as described, significant increase in size of right lower lobe lung lesion and left lung nodule, medistanial node appears necrotic now" as I could not find any option to attach reports therefore I am writing the interpretation of the report"

You have not mentioned about your previous pet ct report. If the current pet ct suggests progression of disease then we have to change medication and if its static or improved than last pet ct then we have to continue same treatment.

My father in law has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in june 2017. He went through 6 chemotherapy cycles. Then due to exon 19 mutation he was on erlotinib for 2 years. Last year erlotinib stopped working so doctors prescribed him osimeritinib and he is on osimeritinib from last 1 year but now he started feeling very tired, his breathing issue increased, cough is increased, and his ribs are paining. He was on oxygen support for 2 days. Is it something serious.

Hi lybrate-user. Lung cancer does not carry a good prognosis. Your father in lawhas stage 4 disease which has been treated with chemotherapy and targeted therapy. If your father in law has developed respiratory problems even after osimertinib, it means that the disease is in progression. He should undergo imaging with ct scan of chest to assess the disease extent.
