Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. As I understand you have hypothyroidism since 10 years and you are on 125 mcg. However, there is no mention of current t3, t4 & tsh levels. Because if hypothyroidism is under good control then all the symptoms related to that condition are in control. So if you are getting back ache and pain in legs, then there is a need to look at those values. If hypothyroidism is well controlled then one has to investigate and find out the re...more

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
The increase in anti tpo (trans per oxidase) antibodies, suggests that there is an autoimmune process activated which is the cause of hypothyroidism. This condition is known as hashimoto's thyroiditis. There is no direct treatment for the increased antibodies number. Hypothyroidism has to be treated with adequate dosage of levothyroxine, which probably you are doing. It is necessary to maintain tsh around 3 to 4 mu/l. Sometimes taking selenium containi...more

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. The main reason for weight gain appears to be uncontrolled hypothyroidism. Ideally in a well controlled patient t3 & t4 are in normal range plus tsh is around 3 to 4 mu/l. It is clear that you have not checked tsh on regular basis, hence there is a tremendous increase. First thing is to bring tsh with in normal range by increasing the dosage of levothyroxine. Secondly there is a need to look at your dietary intake, extent of daily e...more

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. As I understand you are on treatment for hypothyroidism (developed after covid infection), plus for myasthenia. Since no specific details are given like t3, t4 & tsh levels, anti tpo antibodies, serum electrolyte levels (which need to be tested), it is difficult to give any opinion or suggestions. It is better you consult a local physician/endocrinologist so that necessary investigations are done and proper medications are decid...more
