Hi Dr. im recently diagnosed high blood pressure with sinus tachycardia my doctor advised serta beta 50/40 mg and for high cholesterol rosvaf f 20/160 and he advice me to go for ecg and 2d echo my ecg is wnl negative where as my 2echo conclusion got this conclusion: mild concentric lvh normal size cardiac chambers no rwma normal lv systolic function grade I diastolic dysfunction. No Mr. / ar / tr no la / lv clot. No peri cordial effusion. I request you kindly suggest me or advice is my 2d echo conclusion is dangerous is it treatable with medicine i'm just 39 years old please do advise me thanks in advance doctor.

Hello, your 2d echo just suggests high bp related changes nothing to worry. Just like after lifting weights daily in gym your arm muscles enlarge, your heart muscle has enlarged the same way due to pumping against high blood pressure. If you control your bp aggressively by taking regular medication and lifestyle modifications, these changes can be reversed. There is nothing to panic or worry. Follow dash diet (search on google, avoid excess salt intake, alcohol and smoking. Exercise regularly and keep body weight in control. Do not stop medicines on your own. Take care. Stay safe. Am sandeep 23 years old from delhi, I was using a cream which had (clobetasol+neomycin+miconazole) for abt 2 month advised by a chemist for small nd little acne on my face, but after using it for above time I think I got severe side-effect from the steroid that it contain, my right cheeks mostly covered by red inflammatory pus filled severe acne, which is very dirty to watch, redness is there. please help me asap.

Hello lybrate-user. Yes you're right clobetasol propionate is a superpotent steroid that has caused the above-mentioned side effect. Please stop using the cream asap. Also, when you will stop you are bound to get side effects due to withdrawal. Management in such cases is tricky. Consult a qualified dermatologist for your skin issue as without looking at the lesion that you are having, it isn't possible to manage it properly.

I am taking metformin thrice a day 250 mg. My blood sugar is under control. But metformin creates side effects and I get nausea and forced to vomit every three days can you suggest alternative medicine.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. Metformin is most often quite well tolerated. However, in some people it does produce gastrointestinal side effects. Therefore, some people are advised to take it after food. That can reduce the side effects suh as you have complained about. However, if still you have difficulty in tolerating the drug, then there is a need to shift to some other suitable compound. Since there is no information your fasting, pp glucose, hba1ca5, dietary pattern, extent of daily physical activity, plus lipid profile, serum creatinine and urea as well as bp there is no way to give any advise. So please do come back with all the above details then I will be able to suggest necessary changes. It is better if you come in a private conversation where we can prescribe the drugs. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines. Or else please consult your local physician and get the change done. I await your response. Thanks.

You seem to have signs of periods and not pregnancy.in pregnancy the blood will not come as you have said.

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples. These factors can trigger or aggravate acne: hormones, certain medications, diet, stress. To prevent pimples, eat fresh fruits, green vegetables, drinking plenty of water should be an essential part of your routine and intake of oily fried foods, an excess of sugar-salt should be avoided. Don't peal pimples, as they tend to leave scars. Stop using soap on face. Instead take a spoon of milk, add a pinch of turmeric (haldi). Mix n apply on face with the help of cotton. Leave for a few minutes then wash off. It’s a good cleanser. If skin is dry then apply moisturizer like coconut oil. For swollen pimples, gently apply ice for a minute or so. Just don't keep the ice on so long that it irritates your skin. Tea tree oil can kill bacteria. Some people use it to treat minor skin irritations, including acne. There isn't much research on how effective it is, but tea tree oil is safe to put directly on your skin in a diluted form. Try it on a small area first to make sure you don't have an allergic reaction. Simple honey mask--before applying this mask, rinse your face with warm water to open up pores. Then apply honey and leave it on the skin for 30 minutes. Rinse the honey off with warm water; then rinse again with cold water to close the pores. Yeast and yogurt mask for oily skin--oily skin is prone to acne, and this home remedy can reduce excess oil and help clear acne. To make the mask, combine 1 teaspoon of brewer's yeast with a little plain yogurt to create a thin mixture. Apply it thoroughly to all the oily areas and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water; then use cold water to close the pores.Homeopathy is a very effective for this problem n has very encouraging results. For more details consult online.

At this weight you need personal care. Better to take specific diet that is required by you only. Random kcal count and adding in your diet routine will not help you. You can go further for constitution check (vaat/pit/kapha) in the basis of that you will get to know about the heat balance and disbalance in your body. Likewise you might have seen people who eats a lot but still tends to very slim and no medical problem, on the second hand there are people who eat less but tends to gain easily. So constitutional check will help you to reduce fast and healthy.

Hi, please check your thyroid levels. Also medicines will only give result till we use them. They also have side-effects. Weight is a sum total of bone, water, muscle and fat. You need to lose fat to get healthy. Eat small frequent meals every 2 -3 hours to improve metabolism and reduce fat. Have whole grain cereals like millets (bajra, jowar,ragi) and pulses and sprouts. Eat protein rich diet egg whites, sprouts (especially post workout, it will help in building muscle) and improve metabolism. Include healthy essential fat in your diet like nuts - almonds and walnuts, vegetable seeds like pumpkin, watermelon, sunflower seeds, etc. Eat fiber rich diet, it will help to gain early satiety and help you feel full - include fruits like citrus varieties, papaya and leafy vegetables in your diet. Eat heavy breakfast, as 40% of day’s energy comes from breakfast. Moderate lunch and light dinner with maximum fibre and protein’s. Avoid junk food, oily food, processed or canned foods. Drink a glass of water every hour daily to optimally hydrate the body. Exercise 40-45 minutes 4-5 times a week. Brisk walking, aerobics, jogging, skipping or any outdoor activity can be done. Sleep of 7-8 hours will help in releasing all toxins and reduce bloating thus will lead to weight loss.
