Anyone who has even a small degree of keratoconus should not have laser vision correction surgery, unless recommended by the doctor in very specific circumstances.

However, “foreign body sensation” can cause eye discomfort without there actually being anything in the eye. Dry eyes and inflammation of the eyelids can make it feel as though something is in the eye.
