androgenic alopecia is a type of hair loss where hormone dht is responsible. At your crown area hair follicles have the receptors for this hormone so you need to apply the medication for life long to maintain your existing hair. Tablet finasteride can be switched to serum which comes in combination with minoxidil. If your hair fall becomes better then you can use it alternate days.
