The bone tissues are constantly renewed the old and damaged bones are replaced by the new ones. The body thus maintains bone density. However, a serious condition such as osteoporosis can gradually weaken your bones.
Osteoporosis, also known as porous bone is a condition that causes the bones to become brittle and weak. Osteoporosis occurs when the body stops forming as many bones as it did previously, resulting in reduced bone density.

My child complains of Chest Pain. Should you be worried?
Chest pain is a common complaint among children. For a parent, it can be worrisome because there is a natural tendency to associate chest pain with the heart. The good news is, in more than 95% of cases, chest pain is non-cardiac in origin.
What signs will tell me that the pain may be related to the heart?
Chest pain that occurs in association with certain pointers needs a thorough evaluation. Some of the feature...more

Bones are similar to a porous framework which is filled with minerals that make it hard and strong. With age, there is gradual degradation and the mineralized portion is lost, thereby leading to thinning of the bone. The word osteoporosisliterally translates to porous bones, which is due to the gradual demineralisation. In addition to the natural ageing process, there are other diseases that can accelerate the demineralization process.

Aortic valve stenosis is a heart condition in which the valve to the biggest artery- the one which provides oxygen-rich blood to our body, called aorta, is narrowed. This prevents the valve from opening fully, obstructing the blood flow from your heart into your body.
When the aortic valve doesn t open, your heart needs to work harder to pump blood to your body making the heart muscle weak. If left undiagnosed aortic stenosis is fatal.

What is Spinal Stenosis:
The narrowing of the gaps in the spine or the backbone is called as Spinal stenosis. This leads to pressure on the nerves and the spinal cord. 5% of cases of spinal stenosis are seen in the low back of the lumbar spine. In some cases the narrowing of the spine leads to the compressing of the nerve root, which leads to pain in the leg.
Causes of spinal stenosis: It can be caused by aging, arthritis, trauma to the spine, spondylolisthesis and tumor of the...more

Our spine is made of a column of bones. It has 33 vertebrae. Each vertebral segment creates a bony circle, called the spinal canal, that protects the spinal cord and nerves.
Tumour is an abnormal growth of cell mass. Spinal tumours can grow outside the spinal cord covering i.e. duramater & are called extradural. They can grow from bones surrounding the spinal cord i.e. vertebra, muscles, nerve roots, duramater. Examples include metastasis, aneurysmal bone cysts, ewing s sarcoma, lymph...more

Spine deformity refers to an abnormality of the shape, alignment, or formation of the vertebral column. The spine in the human body is composed of small bones or vertebrae, stacked on top of another. A healthy spine, typically, has gentle curvatures. A displacement or exaggeration of the spine leads to deformities.
Types of spine deformities:
The three major forms of spine curvature deformity are-
Lordosis - Causes the lower back to turn inward

Valvar aortic stenosis, commonly called aortic stenosis, is a disorder which occurs when the aortic valve of the heart becomes narrow. The narrowing of the valve prevents its full opening, and hence, blood flow from the heart to the aorta is restricted. When the aortic valve gets obstructed, the heart has to exert much more effort to pump the blood. The heart muscles get weakened as a result. This condition is more common in children.
