A person suffering from anosmia can have weight loss or malnutrition issues. Due to smell loss, an individual also fails to smell gas leaks and spoiled food. Few precautions must be taken if you are dealing with permanent anosmia. These are: consume food that has clear labeling of expiration date, bring home the chemicals such as toilet cleaners, kitchen cleaners and insecticides with proper labeling, and be careful while using electric appliances.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening desensitizing/ whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person.
