These chickenpox marks go in different stages. Drying of vesicles, scab formation with black coloration, falling off of scabs, leaving behind whitish spots. Normally color returns to normal within 2-3 weeks. Simple lactcolamine liquid may be applied multiple times. If marks are on exposed parts like face etc giving bad look. Ocuvir skin cream can be applied twice a day. Sure to get normal.

Most of the time aphthous ulcers are due to infection, decreased immunity, or to local alergy/irritation. As patient is 74 years old, definitely steroids are not an option it will reduce immunity.
Patient can be treated with antibiotics and nsaids and multivitamins (b complex)

Hello lybrate-user, this is called post inflammatory pigmentation. They will gradually fade away over time but to accelerate the process you can use serum or cream that contains azelaic acid follow it up with good moisturiser that suits your skin type. You can either buy it online or visit a pharmacy.
Always apply sunscreen before you step out the house. You'll see good results in 2-3 months of consistent use.
Feel better.

There are no medications which work for prevention of chicken pox once contact has already taken place. Chicken pox vaccine is available normally given at age of 1 year. And booster dose at 10 years. Or any age. But in present case may not work as viral transmission has already taken place. Those who have 1. Taken this vaccine in childhood and a booster dose and 2. Those who had already got chicken pox earlier will not get chicken pox again.
