Yes it completely safe (though no medicne is 100% safe) but as malaria would have killed you your doctor took worse decision to give you safest of all available options among anti malaria medicine and that too very effective
so do not worry in real world till date no strong evidence against its use has been ever published so we take it safe.

Follow this 1. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U should eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. 1. Avoid exposure to cold
2. Take bath with little warm water 3. Do steam inhalation regularly at least once a day
4. Warm salt water gargles daily 5 no cold water / cold drinks / ice creams and so on
