Hi. It's not necessary to undergo surgery. The usual indication for surgery is cosmetic purpose. See bilateral gynecomastia is indicative of testicular dysfunction. For that you can undergo ultrasound scrotum and blood test for serum FSH, LH, Prolactin and testosterone levels. Thanks.
