The best way to prevent osteomyelitis is to keep things clean. If you or your child has a cut, especially a deep cut, wash it completely. Flush out any open wound under running water for five minutes, then bandage it in sterile bandages.

The shin is the frontal part of the lower leg and runs from slightly below the knee almost all the way to the foot. This area takes a lot of stress during movements such as walking and running and most forms of exercises of the lower body. Any other form of movement where the weight of the upper body has to be transferred to the feet also involves the shin. Thus repeated stresses may sometimes take their toll resulting in shin splints which can be quite painful.

Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is a serious complication that may arise during angiographic procedures and is elaborated as the impairment of renal function. It is estimated as either a 25% increase in the serum creatinine (SCr) from baseline or a 0.5 mg/dL (44 mol/L) increase in absolute creatinine value within two to three days after intravenous contrast administration of intravascular radiographic contrast material that is not attributable to other causes.
