For diabetes follow a diet low in carbohydrate, low in salt, low in fat and high in fibre. Avoid bakery products. Avoid too much rice and potato. Avoid fried stuff. Avoid chocolate, cakes, ice cream, soft drinks and fruit juices. Eat lots of vegetables. Walk for at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days in a week. Medicine and insulin will work better if you follow diet and exercise.
Normal fasting is 80-130, PP is less than 180 and random is less than 200.

Mr. lybrate-user, 48 mg / 100 ml glucose is seriously low level. It can cause severe damage including unconsciousness. When glucose level starts going below 70 mg, it starts producing hypoglycemic symptos. One should not allow the level to go down like that. Please look at your total treatment and fasting, Pp levels and HbA1c5. Thanks.

Dear Mr. Lybrate-user,
your sugars are in the borderline range for diabetes esp. The fasting. Also your uric acid is towards the higher end of the normal. Since you hv a family history of diabetes, I recommend you to start metformin after consultation with your diabetologist. Also try to follow a proper diet & exercise regime to have good results.

Diabetes and insulin at young age is depressing.
See some juvenile diabetics and their life style in real life or net groups, you will feel you are not alone. They have achieved so much living with diabetes. You need not achieve like them. But you will not be worried about other's facial expression and feel bad.

Blood sugar variations are very common. The cause may be 1. Not following proper dietary restrictions. 2. Not taking the medicines /insulin at the time adviced. 3. Any fever, stress, infection. 4. Reaction of other medicines, not applicable in your case as you are taking insulin. You need to consult with an expert and rectify the problem with proper coordination. I have also attached a painless continuous glucose monitoring device and tuned the dose of medicine /insulin and diet, and achieved co...more

First of all = you do not have sugar (diabetes)
secondly = metformin was given to you for pcod as metformin is also meant for insulin resistance *(which in later stage leads to diabetes) all the symptoms that happened to you were because of low blood sugar. It happened with metformin so you are advised not to take it. You don't need it!
please do not be tense- eat well and forget metformin- you will be ok.

Normal level of testosterone is 300 to 1000h ng/dl. Your testosterone is low. Hba1c should be less than 6. Do a blood sugar test (fasting &pp), repeat hba1c and consult physician with report for advice and treatment.
