The glycemic index is a measure of food containing carbohydrates and how it can raise the level of glucose in the blood. This is essentially a process where every food is ranked based on a reference food such as white bread. A food with a high GI value increases the level of glucose in the blood compared to a food with a GI that is medium or low. Some of the common examples of food with a low GI include legumes and dried beans. Fats and meats are not included in the index due to the non-availabi...more

Hello, Thanks for the query. The question is a bit unclear, as blood glucose level < 250 mg does not give any idea. Plus there is no mention whether that is fasting or after food and most importantly HbA1c% is not mentioned. Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Use whole grain flour f...more

Saguna lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Madam as I can see you are already on 3 doses of Insulin, plus a gliptin & metformin combination. So my suggestion is to give a closer look at your dietary pattern and daily exercise quantity. Then we may late look at any addition of a newer compound. Exercise should be done daily and for a minimum of 45 minutes to 60 minutes per day. Doing just 2 workouts in a week is not at all helpful. How to manage that is your look out. Secondly it is necessary...more

Your RBC is high because your Ham globin is on higher side. You should donate one unit of blood. Normally blood with high haemoglobin is not even recommended to be given to some body but to dispose off. You can donate it to some blood bank. They can utilise it to take various constituents of blood like plasma platelets etc if they think it right. Take plenty of water.

Your attention to your mother's health is admirable. It's important to note that while i'm a homeopath and a clinical psychologist, i'm not a conventional medical doctor. Therefore, decisions related to prescription medications, like the cilnidipine your mother is taking, should be made in consultation with her treating physician.
That said, I can provide some general advice. Blood pressure medication is often prescribed to be taken regularly, regardless of daily fluctuations in readings, be...more
