Dear sir, chronic pancreatitis is a chronic inflammation of pancreas and the most common risk factor is alcohol abuse. Though it has not been proven conclusively but there is substantially increased incidence of pancreatic cancer in patients suffering from pancreatitis as compare to general population. Donating a part of the liver (right lobe) is quite possible. The part of the liver grows back in the donor in 6 - 8 weeks time. However, like any major surgery there are attended risks of such a surgery for the donor. Over all it is quite possible to donate and live normally.
