Plastic stent works for 3 weeks. A metal stems for 6 months. If the cancer is operable, better to get surgery done. That is the only curative option.

The prognosis of fourth stage colon cancer depends upon the type of cancer and the amount of spread.

Liver cancer with ascites due to peritoneal metastasis is usually considered inoperable. Only palliative therapy with targeted therapy like sorafenib may be considered. (works in HCC, not cholangioca)

sorry to hear about your mother's illness
is she having cancer of liver or of any other organ which has spread to liver as lines of treatments are different.
If the disease is of liver and has spread to whole of abdomen then in that case cure is not feasible but she can be given treatment which can give her time in terms of years depending on diagnosis

The risk factors for liver cancer are cirrhosis of liver, hepatitis B, aflatoxins etc. There is no previous stage of liver cancer.

No cbc will not diagnose liver cancer. Have to check counts and peripheral smear to look for abnormal RBC in blood.
