What is LASIK ?

Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) uses a computer controlled laser to reshape the eye's cornea ( the transparent part in the front region of the eye), so as to enable light passing through it to focus correctly onto the retina of the eye.

For defence aspirants LASIK (either blade free/ flap less etc) is not advisable as the strength of the cornea is compromised due to the procedure. In the event of a combat, there is a chance that the flap may get dislodged. You can go for contact lenses.
