I was suffering from anal chronic fissure and anal skin tag, after treatment for around 3 weeks from my gp, I was not getting relief so I decided to go to the gastroenterologist. Initially he told that it is fissure and gave me medicines like levocet, looz Fibre powder, cremalax, and anometrogyl cream which was to be inserted in the anus. He told me to come after 10 days. Today I again went to gastroenterologist, he asked me about the pain. I told pain has reduced much, but sometimes after my bowel movement the skin tag comes out and it pains. This don't happen everyday but only when I feel constipation. Then he again inspected my anus and told that there is no option for anal tag even though fissure has healed a lot. Anal tag will be disturbing you in the future also. He has given in writing that you will need surgery for anal inflamed tag excision and small anocutaneous fistula pus cast. I asked him after how many days I can go to office. He told after 7 days. He told even if you are not having much pain now. You have no option in future for anal tag other than surgery. He also told to take time and think about whether to go for surgery or not. I am scared and didn't know what to do. Also I will not be able to take long leave from office as I had just joined the company. Anyone please help give me description detail of my problem, how much pain after surgery, surgery process, which surgery homeopathic or ayurvedic, or laser to prefer. The doctor had told it is medium surgery. But I don't know how it will be. Only have heard that there is lot of pain after surgery.

Primary symptoms of chronic anal fissure with sentinel anal skin tag is varied degrees anal pain with burning. Anal pain may be felt at any time in 24 hrs but mostly after passing stool. No conservative measure can give cure. Only surgical treatment can give permanent relief.
Operative procedure is simple & takes only 15-20 minutes. Very rewarding result. Need to avail 2-3 days leave. So go ahead & get surgery done at an early date.

It appears to be recurrence of anal fistula. You are advised to get yourself examined by an ano rectal specialist. In case it is confirmed as fistula recurrence; you should not again undergo surgery. Anal fistula (even fistula recurred after surgery) can be completely treated by graded ksharsutra treatment. Clinical trials conducted by indian council of medical research (icmr) have confirmed that ksharsutra treatment is more effective and more convenient than surgery in patients suffering from a...more

I have facing fissure problem from past 3 years (skin is visible outside of size 1 cm) & it is painful, smells, blood also comes from it. Daily life is not convenient due to this. I met a general gastroenterology she advice to maintain diet for life long. I tried maintaining diet & I felt fissure issue is controlled for some day but again it reoccurred if I miss fiber diet or travel and have outside food for a week. Due to not having permanent cure from diet & medicine I visited a surgeon gastroenterology. He took pictures of anus area & recommended to go for laser surgery for permanent solution. I am not sure what steps to take, should I go for surgery or maintain diet? I need suggestion on this to have permanent solution. I am not sure if laser surgery is safe so not able to take decision. And I do not want fissure to increase and create more trouble in future. I can send those pictures but I do not see any option to attach.

Surgery is not the right choice for anal fissure for the reason of recurrence of anal fissure after surgery and other complications. However this problem can be completely treated without surgery by graded kshar treatment. In this treatment; specialized ayurvedic medicine namely graded kshar is applied in fissure region. Graded kshar debrides the fissure and promotes healing. In this way fissure can be healed completely in 3-5 graded kshar karma sittings at weekly intervals. This is an opd treat...more
