In a patient with long standing diabetes peripheral neuropathy is quite common. This can happen even with a fairly good control. Because high blood glucose affects peripheral nerve functions. Treatment is to achieve strict glucose control (fbg < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% <6.5%), plus take drugs that are supposed to be helping in improving nerve function and control the symptoms. 1. You should avoid heavy, oily meals in the night. 2. Drink lots of water, but avoid drinking water between the meals. 3. Take tab rantac 300 mg bedtime, tab rifagut 550 mg twice a day, syrup sucralfate 2 tsf thrice a day. 4. Consult a gastroenterologist for endoscopy if required.
