Bicupsid aortic valves means, that your son was born with two leaflets in the aortic valve instead of the normal 3 leaflets. It cannot resolve, it is just that he will have these 2 leaflets instead of 3. Dear lybrate user,
- In this congenital disorder the aortic valve has two cusps instead of the normal four from birth
- the progress in life depends on if some problem develops due to the valve & the child becomes symptomatic, there may not be any problem till adulthood
- later on can be corrected by surgery.
