What medicine can be taken for acidity and acid reflux at 10 weeks of pregnancy, My Dr. suggested pan 40 but if I google search then it shows its unsafe in pregnancy.

My father is 63 years old and facing problem of acidity since last 7 months. He has been diagnosed with antral gastritis in 2018 but he recovered from that. That time he took pan 40. Now his acidity is getting worse day by day and he is not willing to eat anything. He is diabetic and use metformin 500. He has neuropathy also. He is on medication like s votica and alzolam 0.5. He tried several antacids but nothing works. He is now using pan 80 for two days but it is not working. Please please help. Is it something very serious or cancerous? His cbc, lft, hba1c, upper abdomen usg report is normal.

Advice endoscopy if you suspect any mass lesion.
Though all reports are normal. It could be a polyp or mass lesion.
It could also be esophageal motility problem.
Try adding syrup mg hydroxide + al hydroxide 5 ml bd with pantop dsr.

Consulted with local family doctor twice, the doctor said it's about acidity and gastritis, he gave a 10 day course of medicine - happi 20 and diovol syrup and told me to maintain lifestyle and change diet habits. Otherwise take long term antacids

Acidity causes an uncomfortable sensation/burning sensation in your stomach, which gets relieved when you eat something. It does not increase your hunger directly but due to the above effect, it may cause you to develop a reaction subconsciously to eat as soon as you feel that burning sensation. If one has frequent acidity, may consult a physician or a gastroenterologist.
