Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. Stiffness have developed due to weakness of the ligaments &inflammed cartilage. Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee.

Rest prevents further injury and avoids stress on already inflamed tissue.
Ice is probably the best treatment.
Ice will counteract the increased blood flow to the injured area.
It will reduce the swelling, redness, and warmth.
Applied soon after the injury, ice will prevent much of the inflammation from happening.
Compression can help keep down swelling. Compression wraps, such as ace bandages, do not provide much support to prevent movement of the ankle, and you should not a...more

Regards Lybrate user. Tear of supraspinatus may occur due to degenerative or traumatic reasons. This muscle is essential to support the weight of the whole upper extremity (arm). With the information provided, no evidence of muscle retraction may suggest it is a partial tear. Is she currently wearing any sling? If not a shoulder sling might help her to temporarily relieve the pain felt and avoid the heaviness in the arm. Also it will provide a chance for healing of the tissue. Sling should not b...more

. For the right hand pain it might be due to carpal tunnel syndrome, where the pain will be felt in the wrist. You can do hot water fermentation/ wax therapy for shoulder and for the wrist pain (hand pain) you can do ice therapy which will reduce the pain. You can go for wrist brace and if you want we can send you by courier.

Two weeks back when I suddenly got up from the chair, I felt some tightness in my right knee. I felt like my knee was locked. But when I tried to stand up, I heard a pop sound from the knee with intense pain which lasted for about 20 seconds. Later when when I tried to walk or climb stairs, I feel like my knee joint is slipping off, I can't give strength to my leg and I also can't flex or extend my leg properly. I am using a knee support bandage for the last two week and even while using it also I experienced the slip off feeling. So I consulted a doctor in my neighborhood, he advised for mri. In the mri report, the finding was discoid lateral meniscus. But the Dr. said only in one image of the mri there is a small tear. He said if the symptoms are not hindering my daily activities better not do the surgery as it can lead from partial menisectomy to a complete and can even progress to arthritis issue in later stages. Im just 25 now. I have been using knee support for the last two weeks and pain and anti inflammatory medicines for last 1 week. Now I feel better. Now I can walk with bandages but im scared to apply pressure on my right leg. I do not flex the right leg now. What should I do now. I need a good opinion from your side. Is it safe to walk with that small injury to the meniscus. Will I be able to do at least my regular activities properly. please reply me back.

Yes do x-ray of affected knee. U can do the following exercises for knee pain
follow these dos and don’ts to help your knees feel their best.
1. Don’t rest too much. Too much rest can weaken your muscles, which can worsen joint pain. Find an exercise program that is safe for your knees and stick with it. If you're not sure which motions are safe or how much you can do, talk with your doctor or a physical therapist.

Can do hotwater fermentation and ice therapy at home. You shall also take physiotherapy treatment called shortwave diathermy which would help you to get relieved with pain. No need to take mri but you can wrist brace for the period of three weeks as the wrist brace will help you to restrict the hand movements which itself will heal the wrist internal issues which has happened due to bike accident. At times the wrist takes majority of the weight of the body while falling down from the bike which ...more
