Hello Mr. lybrate-user, though it is advisable to reduce the dose of pregabalin in renally impaired patient, but 25 mg /day is quite a reduced dose (normal available dose is 75 mg/day). So you can have it safely if prescribed by a physician.

It's about my uncle. He is 50 years old .he is suffering from kidney disease. He had kidney stones & undergone stone removal surgery 6-7 months ago. Stones are removed bt kidneys are not functioning optimally. He is taking amlodipine & sodium bicarbonate. Creatine reports are done bimonthly last report cr :2.25. & uncle is hypertensive. Now we wants to try ayurvedic treatment along with allopathy. So I want to know about this combination of treatment & how should we proceed?

Hell lybrate-user,
I will not suggest you to combine the two separate medicine system on a single body. It will be like experimenting (which we should not. Better to continue with the urologist and the nephrologist for the time being. If all hopes are lost, then only switch over to other therapies, but not before that (my personal opinion).

Sir I have one kidney. The right sided kidney was operated at the age of 5 months. I am 20 years old now. I have been living life normally till now. But a few months back I got a very little problem with my kidney. It was a mild hydronephrosis. I saw a good urologist. He tested all the tests he needed to do. He tested dtpa-renogram+lasix. There split function of my left kidney was 99.8%.my s. The creatinine score was 1. After all the tests he said there is nothing to worry about. He didn't gave me any medicine. Just kept me in observation for 6 months and gave one vitamin tablet. Now my question is what does the split function option in dtpa-renogram means? Does it indicate my kidney function? Is there anything to worry? If not then what about the mild hydronephrosis? Will it be cleared automatically? He suggested me to eat a bit less as I used to feel loin pain in left side after filling my stomach. Eating less doesn't cause that problem much. I am still tensed sir. I am a good looking man studying in a well reputed university. I got a life to live. Never felt this down and tense in 20 years!

Probably it's a non functioning right kidney. Normal creatinine means your other kidney is working normally. Keep a good lifestyle, keep a check on your blood pressure. Get 3 to 6 monthly kft and urine albumin creatinine ratio.

Less than 30 mg is normal. Thirty to 300 mg may indicate early kidney disease (microalbuminuria) more than 300 mg indicates more-advanced kidney disease (macroalbuminuria)

Neeri is very harmful in this sense that people think it might reverse their kidney disease. Kidney disease which are reversible, will improve by specific care only and not any proclaimed panacea. Those conditions which are irreversible, may be harmed by any unwarranted medication.

Sir, my father's name is karthik dasgupta, age-48, since two months now he is feeling sick, very weak .to see doctor he gave some tests in which it showed creatinine - 5.and usg report says kidney is fine, so Dr. Suggest me do same test from another place. After doing the test I saw creatinine is 3.6.after that I saw another doctor. There I tested creatine -1.45.potassium- 4.5.haemoglobin- 11 .euric acid -9.4.after taking medicine for a month today I tested. Creatinine -0.68.potassium- 5.1.haemoglobin- 10.7.euric acid- 3.4 sir, what should I do for this high potassium, low haemoglobin. And is it a kidney disease? Father feels weak if he walks more now. And doesn't sleep most of the days.
