To be honest, one injection will mostly not cure the illness. Ankylosing spondylitis can be a disabling condition leading to many problems. You will need physical therapy along with other medication as well as clinical assessment and other blood investigations. The duration of treatment will ultimately depend on the disease severity which will be clear if you consult an orthopaedician/rheumatologist for the same.

Rheumatic arthritisyou can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Due to sudden jerk she might got nerves compressed, need to go for act scan of cervical spine to ruke out any internal compression or injury of soft tissues or nerves.
Application of hot or ice pack will be helpfull to try at home for a day if no improvement then go for ct scan and follow back with reports for proper treatment.
