Sensorineural hearing loss can often result in difficulty understanding sound or speech even though it is loud enough to hear. Conductive hearing loss is caused by a mechanical problem in the outer or middle ear or an obstruction in the ear canal, such as earwax that blocks sound from getting to the eardrum.

In many cases, tinnitus dissipates on its own regardless of the cause. However, that doesn't mean you should wait weeks, months, or even years for your tinnitus to disappear. If your tinnitus continues for more than a couple of weeks and negatively affects your quality of life, consult an audiologist.

A ruptured eardrum often heals without any invasive treatment. Most people with ruptured eardrums experience only temporary hearing loss. Even without treatment, your eardrum should heal in a few weeks. You'll usually be able to leave the hospital within one to two days of an eardrum surgery.

Dear lybrate-user, relax and calm down, your tinnitus is not associated with hearing loss so it narrows down the diagnosis considerably. The current medication of yours will not have much impact on your tinnitus status. Please consult your nearby specialist or feel free to book an appointment with me so that further details can be shared between us. Sincerely
