Some tips to increase your height: 1.Do Exercise regularly: Spending much time and doing many exercises is not important, as it will not give you efficient output .Every exercise is different and done for different results. Do only stretching exercises that helps you to increase the space between your vertebrae and due to which your height increases. Swimming is also considered a good exercise for increasing height. 2.Take proper sleep: Taking a proper sleep is also important as it is scientifically proven that our body produces more human growth hormone during sleep. You should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. During sleeping body repairs the damaged cells which is equally important. 3.Have proper diet: Have a proper calcium, protein diet, as protein helps in human growth while calcium helps in making bones stronger. You can improve your height by following these measures: 1) Proper Diet and Nutrition: Liver, Green vegetables, Potatoes, Nuts such as almonds andpeanuts, Chicken, Beans, Peas, Fruits like apples and bananas, egg, fish, chicken. 2) Proper sleep-A good night’s sleep is absolutely essential not only for our overall well being but our growth also. It is due to the fact that the growth hormone does its job of thickening and lengthening your bones during deep sleep. Correct sleeping posture is also crucial for proper growth as correct posture keeps the spine straight and this adds to our inches. 3) Some of the stretching exercises are: Basic leg stretches, Super stretch and touching toes, Twists, Cobra stretching, Bar-pulls (hanging from the bars) Hanging from bars 3 to 4 rounds, each round lasting a minute is very effective. Hi, include whole grain cereals, legumes and pulses, vegetables, fruits, Whole milk and other dairy products, lean meat, fish, egg to maintain healthy weight. Avoid refined flour, red meat, oily and fat foods, junk food, sugary foods, alcohol, butter, ghee. Stay hydrated all the time. Consider taking olive oil, almonds, dry dates, green tea as they help you relieve your stress and build up strength and immunity. To increase your height you have to include foods that are rich in both calcium and protein like Whole milk, paneer, green leafy vegetables, lean meat, skin out chicken, egg, sprouts, oats, fish, quinoa, bajra, jowar along with stretching exercises that help you to increase your height. Take high fiber low fat diet. Drink lot of water everyday. Take small and frequent meals at regular intervals of 2-3 hrs. Avoid outside food completely. Ask me privately for customized diet plan for you.

Dear Lybrate user I do not recommend u for taking medicine for increase of height at this age. You shoulf wait upto the age of 22 atleast. bcz your height will increase automatically.

I am 17 and around 5'7" I want to grow a little more! somewhere near 6! what I should do to get there! I have improved my daily diet I take 3 glass of non far milk daily! (2 of 240 ml and 1 of 300 ml with 2 spoon of protinex) I have also started eating 2 to 3 fruits daily! and cut my 2 time meal in 6 different meals and increased protein intake and I also sometimes do height exercises in morning (hanging on pole and sprinting) and one more thing I used to go for morning runs and sprints I stopped it now should I continue that? And do basketball really makes you taller? I want to be a fast bowler so height is important for me! and if basketball does make you tall I came play it for warmups daily for cricket practice! Hello lybrate-user, I would really like to appreciate the way you are maintaining your diet, a lil add-on to it (only possible if you a non-vegetarian), at least 1 egg daily (boiled, half boiled or poached or omlet), sauteed chicken or else best will be lean chicken soup and fish. In addition, playing basket ball does helps in increasing height, since your age is 17, you have at least 5 to 6 years more to increase your height. But please, do not go for iron and/or dumble lifting exercises now, because if you do so at this age then am sorry to say, your height may become shunted. But yes on the other hand you have stretching exercises, swimming and vitamins and minerals (mainly from fruits and green vegetables), proteins (to make your muscles stronger pulses, milk and milk products, animal sources and also soy bean and its products).
