One kidney is sufficient. You can live a completely noRMAL life with it. I t does not affect sexuality and child bearing.
Please only take medicines which are prescribed to you. Stay away from drugs toxic to kidneys.
Go for regular follow up to rule out hypertension and hyperuricemia.

Hi, It would have been beneficial if you had told us since how long you are having this pain. I am assuming your stools are normal and regular.
There are a few causes of right lower abdominal pain:
1) Chronic appendicitis / Grumbling appendicitis
2) pain due to hernia
3) muscle strain
4) Abscess in the lower abdomen or upper thigh area.

First of all you need to understand as your wife is lactating there are very few drugs which can be given to her and as she is having pain after fever it seems like she may be having post viral arthralgia which will come down with time and as far as her pain is concerned safest drug she can take is paracetamol 500 mg tid and she needs to get some physiotherapy which will relieve her pain .do not worry her pain will subside within a week.
