Dear Lybarte User, Please flush the wound 3-4 times a day with normal saline. High fibre and high fluids with fruits is good to avoid constipation and thereby pain relief.
The wound normally takes 4-6 weeks to heal that is what nature takes so have patience and keep the wound free from stools and sticky dirt that keeps coming.

I would suggest to keep it open. You may place a clean handkerchief to cover it. Do site bath twice daily. But do follow your treating doctorâs advice.

First thing is you should control blood glucose effectively, because if that is not done, then oral hygiene is badly affected. Ideally fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. Then you should consult a good competent dental surgeon (periodontologist). Thanks.
