Hello, Diabetes is a metabolic problem which can lead to other minor/major complications. You have not mentioned your cholesterol values so that I can recommend you to visit a physician who can prescribe you cholesterol lowering medicines.
Ideally unless the values, are really high it can be really managed well without medications. All you need to correct is your lifestyle and eating habits.
