Hello its not a throat infection. Its more of acid reflux which occurs when you take spicy food for some people. Avoid taking spicy foods as you tend to get irritation. Avoid tea instead you can opt for healthier green tea with antioxidants. Avoid lying immediately after meals. You can also benefit with antacids to be taken before food. Kindly revert.

Firstly get his throat subjected to cultre and sensitivity. If is due to infective nature, then treat infection with appropriate treatment. If it due to acid reflux, then he should take proton pump inhibitors in appropriate dose before breakfast.
